Show us your breakfast (2025)

MrsT had half a Belgian waffle, topped with fresh peaches, maple syrup (her own), and whipped cream.

I had a big (American) biscuit, split open, each half topped with a runny fried egg and sausage gravy over the whole thing, and home fries on the side.

The waitress saw MrsT sneak her emergency syrup out of her purse and said, “New York, Vermont, or Canada?”

No Walmart option? 🤣

Why would she have to sneak it out? It's hers, not the restaurant's, and her option/right to use it. It's not like she is using anything that costs the restaurant $, like with a corkage fee.

Taylor Ham, hard fried Egg, Swiss Cheese all on a Hard Roll (as DH calls it) aka Kaiser Roll.
It took me years to figure out what the heck a Hard Roll was and couldn't find it ...

That's what we called them here when I was growing up. We used to also have "hard" poppy seed long rolls. Sometimes called long French rolls (about 4-5 inches long flat on both ends). I confuse my DD's sometimes and say on a hard roll by mistake.

I made an overstuffed American style omelet with chicken breast, Blackforest ham, onion, red bell pepper, mushrooms, garlic, spinach, goat cheese, smoked gouda, cheddar, and Swiss. It sounds like a lot of cheese but I just used a bit of each kind, not a lot. It was pretty delicious. It fell apart while plating, which considering the size of the darned thing wasn't surprising. DH had 2/3rds and I ate the rest.
