"How have I been alive 4 years without cheese???"

Has Pepper fully settled in now Barriehie ?
And is she getting on with Ozzie yet?
I think she has thank you. She's settled into the sleep wake routine on my schedule and still charges Ozzie but not as frequently. She's started putting the things I give her in her bed, her marrow bone. I threw a moldy bun out for the crows and when she saw Ozzie eating one she had to bring one back...

Be careful with that. Strider likes to sleep on the arms of chairs and couches. Unfortunately, he has a tendency to roll off when he falls asleep and hit the floor. We've had to limit his on the edge sitting and lying down activities.

I've mentioned this before so it may be remembered that our Mindy likes attention during the night, waking me up several times with meows so we can have a short conversation and some pets, or waking me with pats on my face - with somewhat thorny paws- and once in a while with a cold, wet nose kiss to my lips, which is such a delightful way to be awakened from a deep sleep -not. Anyway, I started doing things to annoy her back, like cuddling/squeezing her, which she used to hate but started liking, holding her down with an arm clamped over her in the bed, and recently started picking her up and rocking her like a baby while singing a lullaby to her when I'm on the couch. She HATED that at first, ears flat, wrowing, taking off as soon as I let her go. That has backfired on me though. She now comes to me and sits staring up at me until I pick her up and rock her. When I put her down, she now turns around, sits down, and stares at me until I pick her up and rock her again. It took 3 sets of 2 lullabies last night. And, she started this afternoon asking, so we're already at 3 sets and it's only 8 p.m. here. I've created a monster!

That reminds me of one of my rescue chooks.

She lived outside with the rest of the chooks. I hadn't raised her, but got her when she was 2yrs old or so. Anyhow, whenever I went outside she'd come and stand in my way, to the point of tripping me up. If I didn't pick her up and hold her for 5 minutes or so, walking around the garden with her in one arm, she would repeat and repeat until she got her way. She'd try it on every single time i went outside. I'd pick het up and give her a cuddle, put her back down and carry on. She needed it 2 or 3 times a day. But if i sat down outside, she'd literally jump onto my lap and sit there until I was done.

People found it most amusing because it was easier and quicker (not to mention safer) to pick her up and hold on to her, than it was to try to side step her! So you'd frequently see me carrying her around like a baby!

Pepper has decided it's far better to eat treats, beef jerky bits, from the Dollar Tree bag when I get home than finish off her lunch...
