Social media

I don't watch much TV, let alone the news ... but wow, that is good to see in my opinion. Only problem with that is it won't stop them (kids under 16) from using the things. The upside though, it might give responsible parents a bit more control over what their kids are doing, seeing and who they are talking to.

Obviously, the kids wont like it but I think doing something that protects (or helps protect) them is far more important.
I suspect this story isn't covered so much by US news for obvious reasons.

The obvious reason for any limited coverage here would be because it wouldn't be in the best interests of Meta .........

Well, CNN, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NBC, Reuters, and USA Today have all done stories on it in just the last couple of days…though I haven’t read any of them. I suppose they could all say, “Those pesky Australians won’t leave poor Marky Z. alone! They’re bad people down there! They eat Vegemite, fer cryin’ out loud!” 😉

I'm to the point where I actively avoid news and especially politics; nothing can be trusted anymore, false information, misinformation, and flat-out lies. It's so sad that, in a nutshell, it has come to being extremely divided and not to the point of doing it respectfully, either. It's past the point of violence. I'm not saying your Australia thing isn't true, I'm just saying in general, mostly pertaining to the U.S. and the garbage media situation here.

Also, is the rumor true that in Australia, your toilets flush the other way?

Legislation was passed in Australia as reported. I understand exactly what you are saying and couldn't agree with you more. Trust and the US media is little more than an oxymoron :(

Do you mean does the water swirl in a different direction going down?

Nope not at all - we flush our loo's the same way you guys flush yours - however, our loo water goes down the loo in the correct direction ;) :)

In short - yep, it isn't a rumor :)

I had read years ago that it depended on which way the jets in the bowl dispensed the water (left or right) and that the southern hemisphere water phenomenon only was evident on large scale such as with storm circulations.
