No, I think there was a misinterpretation. I don't drink. At all. Were you drunk posting last night, BTW? Not like I have never done that, but man, it was hard to have a straight convo with you and I wasn't sure...
Me too, I just removed my subscription from WSJ recently. I have been reading this financial newspaper since my first job out of college.I'm to the point where I actively avoid news and especially politics; nothing can be trusted anymore, false information, misinformation, and flat-out lies. It's so sad that, in a nutshell, it has come to being extremely divided and not to the point of doing it respectfully, either. It's past the point of violence. I'm not saying your Australia thing isn't true, I'm just saying in general, mostly pertaining to the U.S. and the garbage media situation here.
Also, is the rumor true that in Australia, your toilets flush the other way?
Okay, well you posted beer emojis above with the pizza, I suppose you were just being considerate to those of us who like to imbibe. Maybe you were just tired, IDK.No, I think there was a misinterpretation. I don't drink. At all.
To clear it up once and for all, I'm saying education in the U.S. (and some other places as well) is abysmal, and the youngest generation is suffering from it. They would rather try to get famous on TikTok or YouTube via viral videos and not actually learn something. Just thinking that one day an "iPad kid" is going to be president terrifies me.Okay, well you posted beer emojis above with the pizza, I suppose you were just being considerate to those of us who like to imbibe. Very good point indeed. To be totally honest, when my kids were growing up, I was terrified of what they teach and don't teach at school so I do check out a lot of books from the libraries for them to read. One time I complained to the school principal or vice principal about something and he didn’t know the term Amish either, go figure. To clear it up once and for all, I'm saying education in the U.S. (and some other places as well) is abysmal, and the youngest generation is suffering from it. It isn't just nowadays either Puggles - my youngest step son was struggling with english (Grade 12) 15 years ago so we had a "parent/teacher" meeting with the school principle and some so called special ed teacher. I told them that he needed more attention with spelling ......... the response I got from the special ed moron was "why - he has spell check" and she was serious! So apparently all teachers were doing were to teach kids how to push a button on a computerised thing. He graduated high school despite being illiterate and inumerate and that isn't a slur at him, it IS a shot at the education system in this state at least. To clear it up once and for all, I'm saying education in the U.S. (and some other places as well) is abysmal, and the youngest generation is suffering from it. When I went to school we had things called exams - 100 questions and you needed to get 60% correct to pass. You had to do english and a math and if you failed english, you failed the year and had to repeat it. Computers were an extra curricula activity - NOT apart of the teaching format.Well in one advanced math class in college where the 60% is need to pass a class, the majority of them failed, I remember this because my daughter aced the class, she’s a math person, but this is a requirement in order to graduate and become an engineer, software engineer where math is very important.Social Media has made plagerism much easier ...... it now becomes a simple matter of cut and pasteWhen I went to school we had things called exams - 100 questions and you needed to get 60% correct to pass. That’s always been the complaint of every “older” generation - just sub in a different “younger” generation archetype:Just thinking that one day an "iPad kid" is going to be president terrifies me.
