That's okay, you have Marmite, which can go toe-to-toe with any nasty stuff in a can that we have here.

I love both and they are invaluable used in sauces as well as being delicious as a spread. Vegemite is much milder than Marmite and far less salty - you can therefore spread it rather more thickly. The mistake people make when first encountering Marmite, is to use too much. It needs to be spread on bread or toast which is already buttered and the tiniest amount goes a very long way.
I've got that itch to move Marmite/Vegemite posts to a new thread...

I know I'm coming quite late to this, but Spam would be a handy thing to chop up and add to savoury rice along with veg as a change from chicken. I used to eat Spam quite a lot - especially nice grilled with toast and topped with a ring of pineapple, but now I have a problem with its salt content - too much.
Forgot to say I won a prize in the Spam competition with the 'Spamghetti' pictured above. I also forgot to post the recipe here. I'll do so later:

Spam makes a pretty good substitute if you're trying to make a gyro. I've made this Spam Gyro Meat many times, and I've enjoyed it.
