Thanksgiving USA (2025)

My hub brought home a 30 lb. turkey one time. He had to go find a roasting pan big enough to roast the beast.
I think our biggest was 27# one year and we also had trouble cramming it into the roast pan (without the lid). As I recall, some of it wound up being underdone and some also overdone. Every year since, we've bought two 12.0 to 12.5-lb turkeys to make instead, which get done faster and more uniformly. 👍

My wife also insists that we buy fresh, not frozen turkeys for Thanksgiving, so every year we make our pilgrimage to the Mennonite store and pay $2.69/lb instead of half that or less for frozen turkeys from the local places. She was raised a farm girl, so who am I to argue? 🤣
