I always thought a condiment was something you added to food at the table. This could include paprika which is on the table in Hungary like salt and pepper is in England.

Here it would be sugar, chilli powder (or flakes), fish sauce and fresh chillis in vinegar. I'm not even sure that they have salt and pepper upon request.
