The General Chat Thread (2025)

Somehow having driven back from Bristol/Bath today for a 1pm meal out which was served at 2:30pm (grrr, my pet hate, my mother knows I can't miss meals) we've ended up alone in my sister's house dog sitting.
Hope he's a nice dog...and doesn't shed! I'd be breaking out in a rash most likely depending on the breed.
My sister is on a train with her brother, his fiancee and a teenage daughter heading to Newport for the night... Only by the time she gets back tomorrow we'll have left to go and see my in-laws taking her dog with us!

:scratchhead:
Your sister is on a train with her brother, guessing she is your half sister and her brother is not related to you?

The dog, Bella, is a Shar Pei.

That brother and sister are both half siblings. My full brother was at a concert with everyone's step brother.

There are step siblings on all sides of the family. Our mother having been married 3 times, makes life complicated. Husband 1 is remarried with half and step siblings. She'd been married previously. h2, married someone who had been married several times previously, only step siblings I think. H3, married twice before, adopted a boy. It's complicated.

It's not helped by the fact that my biological father moved to south Africa for work for 20-30 years, though I gather he's back in the UK for retirement.

I've given up keeping track of those outside my immediate family circle (so that's 5 of us plus partners and children) except for medical necessity. I had a half sister with cystic fibrosis, which is where my rare adult version of CF comes from. There's a version that gives you most of the symptoms but doesn't typically kill, that's what I have. My (late half) sister was not so fortunate.
