The General Chat Thread (2025)

Nah, they just passed an MOT with no advisory and they started off semi slick anyway 🏎️
You're vaporizing the challengers then yes? I'm an old school NHRA, National Hot Rod Racing Association, fan so absolutely love putting HP to concrete... 👍

Edit: 8000+ HP, gotta love it. Here's a read on top fuelers...

There's nothing like it is there.
Lean as far as you like and they'll still stick to the ground.
So much fun, even on a fully loaded bike. Maybe especially on a fully loaded bike!

Back in the day, early to mid '80's, I had a Kawasaki KZ1000, modified, that would scare me but with good tires it *always* worked. First speeding ticket I got was148 in a 65...

Edit: miles per hour...
I'll not say what speeds I've done. The police over here take it as a confession and can prosecute.
Sounds crazy but it happened on the motorcycle forum I used to belong to.

Fridge still not working. Freezer ok. Been putting ice in fridge but not helping much. Earliest repair appointment is Wednesday 6/4/2025.
NOW internet is down. Internet through my phone is slow as hell without Wi-Fi. 😥
I can commiserate - the guys came here to hook up the new water heater, only to discover it was defective and they had to go get a new one!

Still no hot water. Haven’t showered since Monday. I feel gross.

I was once without hot water for about a week or so, but I lived in Florida and it was summer. I tried a few cold showers (the water was cold even though it was hot outside). I went to the beach boardwalk and showered in my bikini and it was a little bit better.

My brother is on holiday in Marmaris.

A quake hits Turkey's coast. Dozens are injured and a teen dies after being taken to hospital

He contacted me during it. He was unsettled by it, having never been through one before. We've cycled there on tour, so 'know' it a little. We also experienced our first earthquake in Turkey over in Dinar.
I used to live in Santa Cruz, California and vividly recall being tossed out of bed while napping and seeing what looked Iike waves in the yard as the power lines, and poles, went back and forth.
