The General Chat Thread (2025)

Thats rough.
Not a candidate for pacing, ablation or ICD?
Sorry it’s effecting your daily life so much. Not being able to cook or feel like it must really suck.
Not suitable for pacemaker. I could have had ablation but chose not to as it was under control with medication. Now, because I also have heart failure ( a specific condition where the heart doesn't pump properly) i don't know if ablation is possible. At the moment my thyroid levels are out of kilter so that must be sorted first as it can cause atrial fibrillation.

I was genuinely under the mistaken belief AF (re heart probs) was a known abbreviation worldwide.
It probably wouldn't be in Spanish, because everything is the other way round.
UNO = ONU
WHO = OMS
So AF would be FA - which might be the football association, but might also be sweet FA.

As I mentioned in the "Plans" thread, DH & I headed out after brunch and had a lovely afternoon at the Art On the Zoo Fence, there may be a purchase made later from one of the artists who can send out her work from California, saving us on shipping costs.
Then we took a stroll through Kapiolani Park and what did I spy?
The Royal Hawaiian Band setting up in the Bandstand ... I forgot that this was on Sundays...
This is the Pu Kani or blowing of the Conch Shell or Pu, followed by the Oli or pray/blessing.
Chills went up and down my spine.
The last song preformed was Aloha Oe - I cried as I sang along - sssshhhh, don't tell DH, he didn't notice.
We took a leisurely stroll back to the condo.
What a lovely Sunday afternoon.

Ah yes that's sounds like the familiar mix of things that complicate matters.

My Pa has thyroid issues and likes a tipple so that and his swollen feet (heart failure) doesn't make for a simple solution.
But the meds are working for him and at 77 he's happy to simply go home.
