• I’ve added a casual chat room to CookingBites as a place for off-topic banter, light conversation, and short-lived chit-chat that doesn’t belong in forum threads. The chat room is informal and lightly-to-not moderated, with messages being temporary, so it’s ideal for friendly back-and-forth that would otherwise derail discussions. Site rules still apply, but there’s no reporting system or expectation of post-by-post moderation - if something becomes uncomfortable, the right response is to step away. If a topic has substance or lasting value, it still belongs in the forums; everything else can head to chat.

Crap is cold tonight. It's already down at 1°C. This time last night it was still above 3°C and it was -5.9°C this morning. I think tomorrow night be colder.
I hope you can keep warm, of course, but it’s barely 8AM, and I’m on the front porch having a cup of tea and sitting in a puddle of my own butt sweat, so your weather sounds lovely to me right now! 🫠

It's hot here too. I can't see drinking my tea outside in the heat, I like mine in bed, at my desk, or at the kitchen counter. Cooler today than yesterday though.

My tea is in the Lazyboy checking out the news app while Pippi has her breakfast. I follow the sun around closing the curtains...

I think some of the problem is the fact that it's so cold in the house (only have a wood burning stove at one end) and we wear "house" clothes therefore we feel colder than the same temperature outside if we were camping and wearing suitable outdoor clothing...

At least with it being this cold i have a really good excuse for going back to bed for 2 hours after hubby leaves for work.

Had an agency guy join us on Monday, he hasn't been back since, the job market is ropey so you would have thought he would want to stay and earn money. Not the most exciting job but when you have bills to pay...

I'm amazed at that attitude. He probably wanted a job as a Marketing Executive, which paid six figures. If I were the HR person, I'd be in touch with the Agency and tear them off a strip.

He wasn't the first to let us down so not sure why we keep going back to them. Plenty of others around. Thing is, they are shown around a day or so before so they know what they are coming in to.

Probably keep going back if there's a contract involved.
