Went in the library today to extend a book I hadn't finished reading and wandered into the used book store. Finally found the cooking section and saw one relating to Amish cooking. I immediately thought of TastyReuben and all the goodies he's rounding up in Amish country so I picked it up and let it open. It opened up to the recipe for Amish soft pretzels... 🤤

I bought it for $1.00. Experiences to follow.

These are very close to Amish soft pretzels. I've mae them, really good!

I just thought I'd let you all know that I've got exams at the moment, so won't be around much until after the 20th. If I'm really needed, the moderators know how to contact me. Otherwise I'm just coming by once a day.

I've got an oral exam instead of written on Monday and I'm really worried about it. I can pass as coherent in text (unless I've been had by my predictive text again) but in spoken exams it's another matter entirely. My dyslexia is two fold, but the biggest issue is associating names with anything. So if you give be the name of something, I'll look blankly, describe it to me and I know what you're talking about... which is not going to work well with my lecturer when I've already had problems understanding him. 😞

Then there's a presentation tomorrow, same lecturer. A video presentation to record before the weekend, and a major assignment in digital forensics to submit by the 20th before an "expert witness" examination a few days later...

Then I can breath for a week.

I just nearly fell for a scam.
I was looking at hairdryers and didn’t want to fork out for another Dyson (which I love but is IMO way overpriced) so I was reading reviews, you know ‘The top five’ etc etc.

The website ‘Top Beauty Devices’ was one of the first google results, the reviewer rating them sounded genuine and their top pick was half the price of the Dyson, better rated and currently on offer.

I actually got as far as the checkout before thinking I’d better check the shipping times and then on a whim the Trust Pilot reviews.
Oh dear although the linked site has a UK address they sell fake goods shipped from China.

You're absolutely right there. Last week I got an authentic-looking post on FB, supposedly from a big store over here, offering 490 freezers free to the first who answered. Looked legit, but as I went into the site, it was asking for more and more personal details and I got suspicious.
I went to the store yesterday and they said it was a scam; they don't give things away!!
 
Yeah. Last week I got an email that looked exactly like someone legit that I use... I can't remember who right now... but even the address looked legit. Maybe one extra word at the end.
But there was something about what they were offering that just had to be a scam to get me to click on it.
Like the emails I get from UPS telling me they are holding an international package for me. I just need to... 🙄
