Toasters are in almost every home in the UK. Is it the same elsewhere in the world? In the UK we love our toast and often have it at breakfast, lunch, tea etc. Things on toast are very popular - by which I mean a slice of toast (not a grilled sandwich) with something on it - a fried egg on toast, for example, would be typical of 'things on toast' in the UK.

Do you own a toaster? Do you use it often? How and when do you serve toast?
 
I've never seen a house I visited to not have a toaster! I use mine almost daily and multiple times. For breakfast is a sure thing and I like sammies toasted so that gets lunch. Not much at dinner but late night snack can be as simple as toast with butter or a full blown grilled ham and cheese. I pretoast to minimize pan time. Have to play with that a minute to figure toast time and melt cheese time. 🤔 It's a power thing...
 
We haven't got a toaster; I just bung my bread in the oven (broiler - ie. toaster) and it's done in about the same amount of time.
My DIL in Atlanta has got a toaster. Toasted bread and toasted bagels.

My oven/broiler costs x20 per event to toast. Only economically effective to have a toaster. 💲

We have toast a couple of times a week with breakfast, and probably three or four more times a week as a snack, but mainly topped with something sweet, like jam, peanut butter, or Nutella (and butter…always butter).

Some sandwiches (like our BLT’s the other night) get toasted, and we also occasionally buy bagels and English muffins.

When I had a split oven, with what was essentially a toaster oven for the top oven, I abandoned the toaster and used that, because it had a specific “toast” setting and made better toast faster than the toaster.
 
We have a normal toaster (slots at the top, toast pops out when done etc.), but I've seen this kind in many kitchens here instead which is basically a small oven but folks use it to toast bread. I actually wouldn't mind one as they're quite versatile for any kind/thickness of bread plus can do a lot of other things too when I don't want to fire up the big oven. I haven't got the counter space though.

I used to have a toaster oven and loved it. Didn't heat the whole house up and made great meatloaf. Years ago, my oven stopped working just before Easter. I ordered a new range but wasn't coming till after Easter. I did my eye round roast in the toaster oven and it turned out great.
But I needed the counter space, so had to get rid of it.
