I'm hoping Wandering Bob sees this and responds, but I noticed there's no Last seen indicator for his account. He was certainly our most prolific bread maker last year, but it looks like he hasn't posted since February.

Did you do the scoring yourself, or was that already in the bread pan? Very artistic either way, but impressive if you did all that yourself!

I used a baneton - dead easy. You just do the final proving in the baneton and then tip it out to bake it. Like these:




So here it is cut:

Served it with some truly fantastic saffron cured salmon and oysters.

I didn't get chance to vote in this one, but i make bread 2 or 3 times a week. orDer the moment, my sourdough isn't active so I'm making yeast breads just for simplicity. I'll add a photo of today's loaf later, but these are a few on my loaves from recent times.

Nothing special, but lunch is sorted.

Can't beat fresh bread, the smell is amazing, daughter staying with us, one of her friends is a baker, so we're getting a free loaf bread every day. White one day then whole meal the next. I'm happy.

Another buttermilk loaf. I needed about half a cup of buttermilk for something and the smallest container was a half-gallon, so now I'm using it up.

I'm back Mr. Gourmet .. thank you for your comments.

I spent just about every waking moment on my bike last year (8311 kilometres cycled).

This year may be the same (target 9000km), but I'll try and find time to read posts on here, and to post a few things of my own too.

I'm making focaccia every 2 or 3 days. This is yesterday's .. 300g (270g strong white, plus 30g of buckwheat flour) and flavoured with thyme - both in the dough and on the oiled baking tray.
