Trip to the casino

G had clients to call on in Shreveport, La. I packed a little bag and went with him
We stayed at Sam's Town Hotel and Casino. While he called on clients I played Black Jack. I played for 10 hours Wednesday and 5 hours Thursday
I walked away with $25 less than I started with
Not bad for that many hours of entertainment
Wednesday evening we had dinner at William B"s. A wonderful steak house. We both had a bowl of divine cream of Cremini mushroom soup
I had halibut on a bed of garlic herbed mashed potatoes and thin seared asparagus
All dressed with an herb beurre Blanc sauce. G had a perfectly cooked, medium rare fillet
We shared my veggies
I had to stop by the kitchen and thank the chef and staff for the perfect food preparation
Our server was the most delightful French woman
I ate at William B's a couple of years ago when I had a "girls trip " with a good friend
Sweet French Lady was not working
Two years prior to that we dined at WB's
Three couples. Sweet Lady was our server then. We all fell in love with her
4 years later we walk into the restaurant and she greets me with a hug and says "You are from Lafayette:" WHAT!! I met this woman one time 4 years ago

Great story, first time I went to a new restaurant about 15 years ago with my family, about 10 of us. The lady took our orders without writing anything down, and delivered everything exactly as we ordered. Some amazing hospo people out there.

What blew me away was her reception. When we walked into the dining room this adorable French Lady gave me a huge hug and declared that she was glad to see me again
I had not seen her in 4 or 5 years. She did not remember my name but knew that I was from Lafayette. I am kicking myself for not taking a picture of her
