So, I've tried the vegetarian hot dogs that Oscar Meyer came out with called Not Dogs. They're actually pretty good, just expensive. Anyone else tried them?

No, I'm not vegetarian, but I don't like hot dogs so I would try them. As long as they don't taste like hot dogs!

I am vegetarian so i had it. Vegetarian hot dogs are plant-based alternative to traditional meat hot dogs. They are typically made using ingredients like soy, tofu, seitan, jackfruit, or vegetables such as carrots or mushrooms.

I gather it's a joint venture between Oscar Mayar and the NotCo. The NotCo do an excellent milk alternative called NotMilk. So if it is anything like that, it will be very good.

My only issue with these alternatives is that I actually don't like what they're trying to replicate, so replicating a hotdog isn't something I'm likely to want to try negate I didn't like hot dogs in the first place.

Sadly I can't get the NotMilk anymore, so have returned to oat milk, almond milk or soy milk depending on the situation.

Never tried a vegetarian hot dog, but I'm pretty partial to Gregg's vegetarian "sausage" rolls.
I don’t know the brand, but my friend served some vegetarian sausage rolls at the birthday party she threw me a few years ago, and I remember them being delicious (although my memories of that night are a bit hazy…I’d had a few. Or many).

I honestly don't know if it is. I'm not familiar with NotCo. It is very good, though. They also have a bratwurst and a sausage, but I've never had them before. Wouldn't normally eat them as meat. I'll have to try the milk if I see it.

They are worth looking up. The technology behind what they are doing is great. They actually built a 'taste' machine to identify all the components in all plant based foods and made it into a database. They then get the machine to 'taste' what it is they want to replicate and it gives them an ingredients list and percentages etc for the closest match it can come up with.
Sadly getting their products in Australia is very hard, they're a south American company.

I was kind of saying it is a venture between the 2 because I looked it up.

I'm vegetarian with anaphylaxis to dairy protein, and typically I don't do honey and icky eat the eggs from my own chickens, so almost vegan. I am interested in what's going on, even if I'm not that interested in replicating meat for example because I've not eaten it since I was 11, so don't miss it at all.
