I had that with my previous car...
Maroon baby pajero with a roof rack.
Very easy to spot.
Now I got a white toyota landcruiser prado like about 50% of the population (or at least thats what it seems like)

This is sort of funny (long pointless story to follow):

You know how you’ll be in an area/city you’re not familiar with, and you’ll go into a chain store, like a Target or a Tesco, and once you’re inside, everything is familiar again, because one location of a chain store is more or less like the next, and you sort of forget you’re out of your usual home base?

Then, you step back outside and suddenly, for a split second, you’re disoriented, because the car park is different, and the surrounding area is different, and it’s a little jarring, and you have to gather your wits a bit and think, “Ok…where the hell did I park?” - this is especially noticeable for me, because I’m a creature of habit and at my usual shops at home, I always park in roughly the same place, so I always know where my car is.

Well, that was my experience yesterday - I’d left the car dealership, 90 minutes drive from my area, and somewhere I’d never been before buying this new car, and on the way back, I spotted an ALDI, so I pulled in to grab a few things.

ALDI is ALDI is ALDI, so I’d gotten into that comfort zone, then walked outside and was completely disoriented and had no idea where I’d parked.

Then I remembered the same joke that the dealership staff and all my family made - “With a color like that, you’ll never lose it in a parking lot.”

Closed my eyes, cleared my mind, opened them, and looked straight ahead;

Easy to spot, down the line of cars on the right side. :laugh:
Like an airport landing beacon! 😂

We had a hard time finding that color - loads of black ones, white ones, but only three in that color across several dealerships from Columbus (OH) south and west.

Talking to the sales manager, he said it’s something of a weird thing - dealerships don’t want to take a chance on anything “odd,” but then customers largely want something that stands out, and the idea that something is hard to get makes it more desirable, so they eventually order more, until that color becomes popular, so the manufacturer releases a new “odd” color, and the cycle starts all over again.

This $20 12 volt pump from Amazon has saved me hundreds of dollars in service costs. The place that changes out transmission fluid charged me $164 for $72 worth of product, no more! Now I do my cooling system for around $30 opposed to $150; and that was seven years ago. 👏
