When I make a "boiled dinner" (cabbage potatoes and spare ribs) or corned beef and cabbage, I like to use some type of vinegar on the cabbage. Anyone else?

I never thought about it but I can imagine it adds a taste dimension. When you say 'boiled' do you mean the spare ribs are boiled?![]()

You need to try mint sauce added to cabbage, I steam cabbage and put mint sauce in before serving. It's another level. I make my own sauce, simple to make as well.

When I make an Asian cole slaw, I definitely use cabbage and vinegar (and no mayo).
