Weather and other bits

Yep, it isn't the designated temperature that causes the issues, it's the reletive humidity. The higher that is, the worse the weather feels. In Darwinwe had 9 months of the year with virtually no humidity and a pretty constant 30 C 24/7 - it was perfect. For the other 3 months we got a years worth of rain (monsoon season) and the RH was in the 90% range two or three cat 3 cyclones, the odd earth quake and salt water croc warnings - We called it suicide season and for very good reason you had three choices:

1. Stay there playing superman and go stark raving mad
2. Stay there and eithe be killed by a cyclone, blue ring octopus, box jelly fish or overy friendly crocodiles
3. Save time and tax payers money and comitt suicide OR
4. Pack up your bongos and leave :)

I opted to stay each year but I always had a cunning plan - the only time I went outside, I go with a mate covered in BBQ Sauce :D

October is called suicide month here as it is our hottest month.
But I find November more difficult to deal with as it is just before the rains.
You get the build up to thunder and lightning, you can feel it.... And then it doesn't rain.
Next day it builds up and..... Nothing.
Till finally it breaks and starts raining

A thunderstorm or two came through.

We have had high wind warnings as of last night - to be more accurate - high wind gusts - and ironically we still have power!!!!!!!!

It's a miracle!! Normally when somewone sneezes in florida - we loose power in new york :D

Still as windy as hell here and suppose to continue through till midnight - so much for my fish fry tonight :(
Well, remember that spahgetti I have been making for who knows how long? Looks like tonights the night :)

Ahh for the spahgetti guys, the spahgetti :rolleyes::D

It's crazy windy here, as well (as it's been off and on for the last month). It once again blew my full trash cans away from the house, flipped over a table and bench, and even blew a brass lantern off a table and smashed it on the back patio. The patio furniture cushions and pillows went all over the place, and I had to throw bungies around the patio curtains just so they don't rip away.

This wind is nuts. I was just at a neighbor's house, where the wind ripped his storm door open and bent the piston rods on the pneumatic closers. I popped them off for him, just so he could get the door shut and lock it tight. It also blew a giant pine tree down on another neighbor's fence a few doors down.

I hate the wind more than nearly anything else - I went through too many cyclones in Darwin before coming here. They were enough to make the wind make any one crazy.

We get the occasional tornado, those are really freaky bad, and the remnants of hurricanes. 🙁

Not as bad as tornado alley or the hurricane damage like Florida endures but those events are really disruptive, to everything.
