Weather and other bits

Today, or more to the point this afternoon, was miserable here. Although we didn't get the predicted 5" - 10" of snow we did a shoot load of sleet and ice which turned our road into little more than an ice rink ... tonight is going to be cold again so I doubt any of it will melt by tomorrw or even through tomorrow ...... :(
 
Freezing rain was forecast to hit at 2:00 pm here, so we bumped our extended family Christmas get-together to 9:00 am and made brunch with pulled smoked ham and eggs. We had a fantastic time, as always, and hit the road just as the freezing rain was beginning to fall. We left in the nick of time, as there were multiple crashes reported on the roads we'd just been on 15 minutes earlier. Family pic of the men in new Christmas PJs, which my wife insisted on. Me (far right), my kid, uncle, and two much younger cousins who are actually my kid's age.

Very cold and over cast here so we still have plenty of ice still and hazardous travelling to the point people are being strongly advised to NOT travel unless absolutely neccessary. Hopefully the ice will be gone by tommorow as it is supposed to be in the 40's F. That'll feel like a heat wave compared to what we have had lately :)
 
Another cold summers morning start at below 5°C. Due to only reach 23°C today. Then we've got a warmer spell coming and by New Year rain.. which will be nice if it happens without us losing power. We get a mix of these 2 forecasts depending on the direction of whatever system is winning...

Ditto here, if i had either. Started at 6°C this morning, made it to 30°C this afternoon!

We repeat tomorrow with a little more temp in the afternoon (32-34°C forecast) before finding double figure nights again for a few days...
