We've a Slack Top and a Slack Bottom nearby, but no Slack.

You don't need a Slack, if you have a Top and Bottom. Maybe a Slack Middle?!
I don't know if its weird (a bit weird, maybe?) but yes its humorous to us. I didn't think Las Vagas was weird until I found out it meant 'the meadows'! Does Los Angeles also seem weird to you?
I've got a bit of one of those!

We have Lower Peover, Nether Peover, Over Peover and Peover Superior.
There is also Ilam (written in caps it is ILAM) which as a kid I rather innocently
asked my parents why a place was called 11am! Needless to say the name stuck
There are also loads of others which make no sense unless you know that -wich means salt in the old dialect. So there is Northwich, Middlewich, Nantwich, Leftwich to name a couple or so.
