What’s the next kitchen item you plan to buy (2025)?

I’m not buying this but I can’t decide whether I really like it or I think it’s really gauche!
Bling a ding ding!

I was going to put a poll on it - like or up chuck?
But I can’t find the ‘poll’ button?

So do you like or does it make you feel queasy?

I do not like that. Is that copper housing plastic? I’m assuming it is.

I can’t do any kind of prep work like that while sitting.
I do all of mine sat at the table. Some stuff I stand for (chopping carrot or onion etc because it’s faster) but mostly I sit.
I also cook at the table too, if its a long cook that needs to be stirred I put a hob plate on there and watch something on my ipad or go on the forum while I mindlessly stir.

One of these two is what I have my eye on and only £30 which is more like it!

Hmm just checked and Ariete is an Italian brand owned by de longhi so perhaps not.

It’s stainless steel.
It’s good that they offer replacement parts and will refurbish you purchases (at a price) but it comes with a measly one year guarantee which they tell you about as if it’s generous but that’s the law on electrical items in the UK?!

This is the make of hand mixer I have. I've had it for many years. I like the way it ejects the mixing tools at the press of a button. But maybe they all do that. I remember I bought it because I saw quite a few chefs using that brand.

I bought one of the first Dualit ones for my mother in law and it’s still going strong after many years.
But then so is my cheapo one from Lakeland I bought over 30 years ago so I’m not sure it matters.
Back then though Lakeland stuff was good quality, I think Lakeland’s a bit more hit and miss now 🤷‍♀️

The other thing is that you can stand it on end if you break during using it. That way the tools don't mess up the counter. Not sure that all mixers do that.

I don’t think they do. My old one certainly doesn’t. I didn’t realise a lot of manufacturers have put maximum running times on the instructions now.
I have been looking at this one. It’s max run time is 6 minutes before a 15minute break!

Even Kitchen Aid put a 6 minute maximum on their dough hooks and only 2 mins kneading before a break.
They tell you can run it longer when whipping but to be aware of the signs of over heating. Personally I think that’s a bit crap for a premium placed product.
Edit- It’s a premium price tag for a measly 60 watts!

That's more like a stand mixer. If you are equipping a tiny kitchen I would avoid it. But then, it has to be said I use very few electrical gadgets aside from a stick immersion blender and a spice grinder. My kitchen is tiny.

The Duralit hand mixer lives elsewhere and comes out about twice a year. It doesn't take up much space.

I didn't know about those time restrictions.
