Same hereI have a stove top pressure cooker and rarely ever use it as a pressure cooker. It is very useful without the lid because it's a second 5L saucepan

Well, the Instant Pot Duo Plus with WhisperQuiet Multi-Cooker 5.7L (with a Sous Vide option) was (as I hoped) in the Amazon Black Friday Week event (which started today) so an order has been placed and will be with me tomorrow so can't wait to give it a try over the weekend!
That's ginormous with only one person in the house. Pippi doesn't eat much...That is a very large (by my standards) multicooker.
My IP is 3 qt. size and you can fill it max 2/3 full. A half gallon is a lot of anything around here.I don't think it is that big?
Generally you are only allowed to fill them halfway or something like that, and less for dry beans and pulses.
Or is that only for the stove top ones?
6 litreI suppose I should check the size of mine.
I normally make multiple meals (but in a different pot)
Yes and no! Its looks taller than it is wide so should still be OK for smaller quantities but will be great when I cook stuff for others too like the office Christmas buffet that is coming up soon! That is a very large (by my standards) multicooker.
It's a bargain and has a sous vide function I can try out in conjunction with the vacuum sealer I purchased recently. That's ginormous with only one person in the house. Pippi doesn't eat much...
I like the look of that sling thing so just ordered the red one on the black friday dealI think 5.7 is a fine size. That’s the size my instant pot is and it’s what I use when it just one or two of us.
But I also have a 7.5 litre ninja and that also works for the two of us. There’s no obligation to fill it.
For Spain where it is usually just the two of us I chose another 7.5 litre. I like that you can fit a casserole dish in it. That allows for cooking any size dish you want.
Capacity wise an inner bowl you can get a whole chicken in flat is as small as I’d want to go.
I use this casserole (reducing the capacity to 2.4 litres) and put it on this sling so it’s easy in and easy out.

This reduces the capacity dramatically and allows for cooking other things like puddings. Just to point out this is how I reduce the capacity in the 7.5litres not the Instant Pot but theres no reason the same thing can’t be done with a smaller dish (this sling fits the 5.7 Instant Pot too).
One other thing about the 5.7l is it’s the most popular size which means there are a lot of accessories available. I bought a second inner pot and two lids. Very handy if you want to use it again straight away while storing food in the other![]()

It is a handy thing. Especially if you like to cook a whole chickenI like the look of that sling thing so just ordered the red one on the black friday deal![]()
