What are you afraid of?

Oh, they are very clever.
One or two will distract you, and then the others run of with your bread, pack of crisps, jar of gherkins, tupperware of sugar. Then climb in a tree and sit eating the stuff making sure you can see them.
The can open car doors and trunks.
And they are amazingly strong!

I think I woul dbe more annoyed with them than affraid of them :)

We’ve got coyotes here, but they usually don’t bother people. My cats are strictly indoors-only. There has only ever been one verified fatal coyote attack on a human in Canada. They mostly start to bother humans when stupid people feed them.

As for bears - I’ve seen a black bear in the wild exactly twice, and both times were well outside of the city. We get them at my cottage on occasion, but I seem to always miss them.

I did have a funny moment several years ago - I was taking a bunch of first year university students for a one-hour hike in the woods on the edge of campus, here in the burbs. One very excited international student asked me “is there a good chance we’ll see grizzly bears today??!?” It took quite a bit of self-control to not laugh when I told him, no, they don’t come into the city, and also I’ve lived here my whole life and never seen a grizzly bear…

Hmm, possible half ton bear that can run about twice as fast as the fastest human, I'll pass!

Nah, not afraid of bears. Especially black bears, they’re generally not too interested in messing with people. Both times I’ve seem them it was from a car, and the bear was just taking a stroll through a farmer’s field, minding its own business doing bear stuff.

The raccoons we have here though, they’re everywhere, smarter than you think, and very interested in whatever you’ve got. They once broke into the cottage in the middle of the night, ransacked the kitchen, and took off with a full tin of cocoa powder!

A normal sized termite mound.

I'm still glad I wasn't that close, but have far fewer issues with termite mounds than ants nests.
