My older sister went with lilac. She had gone gray so it's more like pale lilac highlights. It looks pretty good on her, too.

It's my natural colour (dark blonde going grey)
I've been some shade of natural blonde all my life, I fancy throwing some colour on it - it will grow out.
As a young girl my hair was so blonde it was almost colourless, when you start from that and a pale skin then trying a darker dye is a bit daunting but I want to have a play with the colour. My hair grows pretty fast so it won't be in for too long if I don't like it

No, I don't think it will be too much. If you are worried about that, maybe try a temporary color first.
My middle daughter's best friend changes her hair color pretty often. I have seen it blue, silver, and more.
