I just had a chuckle thinking about the different names we have for things. Zucchini is probably courgette where you live, and capsicum is bell pepper where I live. I think cucumber is the same for both of us.

I laughed when I saw ya pic. Mr8 was here last week, I asked him if he wanted to watch a DVD. He picked one out and said to me, you know it comes with popcorn. He then said to me, do you know popcorn so compound word? I laughed, his mums a teacher.

Just a bit laborious to leaf (sorry I don’t know if “to leaf” is the appropriate word) but they are quite tasty. I wanted to make béchamel sauce too, then I changed my mind and went for a simple sauce made with milk and grated cheese, whisking them together, then put on top evenly. Lighter than béchamel and worked well

Okay, now I am drooling on my keyboard.
I do understand what you mean by "leaf," I think. Fresh leeks are a bit "dirty" They require some effort. I think you made the right choice with the lighter cheese sauce.
Milk and cheese is not an easy thing to cook together, it can break on you. Bravo!Edit: now I have to ask if "break" is a universal cooking word.

Having pain today unfortunately, I tore my calf muscle yesterday so standing isn't comfortable. So we ordered snacks.

I've had a whiplash there (that's the Dutch term, not sure about the English one) which means that the muscle has been ripped apart completely in the past and now has scar tissue holding it together. But it sometimes gets torn again, and depending on the severity I sometimes can't walk on it. Now it's not too bad, but it can cripple me for weeks at a time.
