What did you cook or eat today (February 2026)?

I was just going to eat yesterday's quiche, but then I thought, nope, got to use up those potatoes.
Heart Attack Potatoes.
Boiled potatoes, cut into slices. Butter, cream, cheese, bacon, fried onions, more cream, more cheese.

I suspect almost everyone will say "what's she done to the omelette?"

But we love well whisked omelettes. The base is cooked through, the foam is raw. Well seasoned, and served in this instance with marinated mushrooms which were for another dish (included tamari), but today did not get warm enough for a cold soup (i had to put the Dyson air purifier on heat mode this morning so I could study).

Since my surgery 3-1/2 weeks ago, I’ve been taking it very easy on my stomach, as the procedure affected my digestive system, so it’s been lots of fiber and smaller meals while I recover.

I knew it would happen sooner or later, but I suspected it would be pizza or a greasy smashburger that would do me in, but I knew something would be too good for me to restrain myself, and this was the dish.

I ate way too much last night, and it’s been sitting there like a rock, slowly working its way through, and reminding me I really should have heeded the doctor on this…
