warm goats cheese salad with walnuts and figs, croque monsieur on the side
Swine !!! I could murder that right now, next Monday I come off the no carb diet. Figs grow wild here and have very little value, my Fil grows massive ones on his trees. This is my fave autumn lunch. Yes the walnut pic does look like a................I will get my coat.

Fajitas and black beans. I marinated 2 pieces of skirt steak. The marinade included lime juice, garlic, sweet onion, jalapeno and cilantro. I also did a red and yellow bell pepper with a sweet onion. Everything was cooked on my Weber charcoal grill. The black beans were my normal offering.

We bought a very fresh 2.5 kg Hake on Saturday. I let it settle down in the fridge till Sunday. My wife cut the middle into steaks. She froze half along with the head and tail. The head and tail will be the start for Croatian fisherman's stew, a few more heads job done. She made sauteed garlic and courgettes and backed toms stuffed with salted anchovies and garlic. The Hake was cooked à la meunière.

Beef olives were a favourite of mine when we lived in Lanarkshire. I cannot remember seeing them elsewhere.

My western food supplier has vacuum packed sliced topside roast beef. Rolled around pork stuffing (Pork, Sage and Onion Stuffing Recipe - Food.com) and with Bisto gravy that could be very acceptable. I'll need to wait a fortnight to get the beef though.
