What did you cook or eat today: July 2025

Fry's (Kroger's) weekly coupon special had Chuck Roast on sale for $5.99/lb. I got about 4 pounds of meat.
Made what I'm estimated at 6-7 quarts (my pot is an 8-quart hard anodized, one of my faves) of Local-Style Beef Stew - most ONO!!! (that's Hawaii speak for Hawaii-style and delicious)

My "peanut gallery" was chirpin' away as I was cooking, "it's too hot to eat Stew! What are you making that for?" (please feel free to add in the sound of a whiny little ten year boy for dramatic effect )
WELLLLLL ... when it goes on sale you buy it and make it for the deep freeze later down the road, that's why!
(this meat had been in the freezer for a bit already; it needed to get cooked off)
DH is my official taste tester, so I gave him the smallest bowl of Beef Stew, with just 1 piece each - Beef, Potato, Carrot, Onion and Celery... "can we have this for dinner tonight?"
:giggle:

You are quite right. I'm now officially suffering from memory loss.
I had to pee earlier today. I walked into the bathroom, turned on the light, thought, “What did I come in here for?”

Then I “remembered,” put on my medicated rosacea cream, walked out, back into the living room, and thought, “I have to pee. Didn’t I have to pee earlier? Did I pee earlier?”

It's the potato chips...

This pie is such a pain in my ass 😫
Before this recipe I had no fu#&ing clue that pie shields existed. I had to make a ghetto one out of foil. 🤦🏻‍♂️. I'll show pics later, it might not be worth seeing.
Don’t sweat it, I used foil pie shields for years and years before I bought one…and it’s not that great.

Please do show pics, there’s no such thing as bad pie, only good pie and better pie.
