What did you cook or eat today (June 2025)?

German potato salad, beef sausage, eggs with paprika & olives as a summer meal.

Skinless sausages (they're great, a hit, same flavour and texture as a Brit sausage 👏) with some truffle scrambled egg.
Well kinda truffle. It's a dollop of 'Salsa de trufa' by Mercadona. It's like the crack cocaine of the mushroom world. Dare I say better than plain truffles, yep I think it is.
It's mushrooms blended with black olive and truffle so the level of earthiness is off the scale.

I believe it's the Spanish version of the Italians tartufata. They describe it as a sauce but it's not, it's a paste. A gorgeous paste, reminds me more of anchovy paste due to the strength.

Yum yum.

Costs about €3 and is excellent value for money.
If you haven't tried it and fancy a go pay attention to the percentage of truffle in it, that can vary wildly.

Looks delicious! May I ask what's in the potato salad that makes it German - I assume it's potatoes and mayonnaise but what other ingredients are in there please?
I've always learned that to be German it needs pickles, mustard, onion and green herbs. Mine has mayo, gherkins, dill vinegar, dill , sour cream, spring onions, parsley and mustard for a dressing.
