What did you cook or eat today (March 2026)

So so sooooo very busy this past month, I actually haven't been able to cook much at all.
We got finished at the hospital with what we needed to do for my Mother and I suggested that we try this Soup Sandwich Salad joint that Mom & I have been to several times...

Chips/Crisps
Shaved Chicken Breast and Bacon on toasted 21 Grain bread with a Pesto Aioli and lettuce
A lovely Chicken Tortilla Soup

DH said he wants to go back here tomorrow after the hospital ...

I've got a lot going on this month, and to complicate matters even further, I've been invited to an event called "24 arepas, 24 chefs, 24 hours" by the Venezuelan gastronomic society. The president is a long-time buddy of mine and he invited me.
Since an arepa can be filled with almost anything (bit like a sandwich), I 'm making a tandoori chicken filling, with a tomato/onion salad (called a kachumbar in India) and some mango chutney.
Today I did a trial run with the chicken and we'll try it out tomorrow.
I also cooked some okra with red onions (bhindi pyaz) and an Indian style lentil dish, with green beans, peas, tomatoes and half a dozen chiles.

Not today but we were invited to an amazing one star restaurant recently by a friend ❤️

Two of my favourite things combined here: Marmalade and Negroni to form Negroni Marmalade!!!
The combination of blood oranges and the ingredients of the Negroni cocktail - Gin, Red Vermouth and Bitters - in this instance it was - Tanqueray, Martini Rosso and Campari.

Great combination. Is it available to order? Campari is favourite of mine.
