What did you cook or eat today? (November 2025)

English breakfast ( sort of). Bread with baked beans, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage and fried mushrooms

The air fryer and I are not exactly best friend. It had one job to do..it couldn’t even do that.
Just frying courgette sticks that I previously coated in oil, breadcrumbs, Parmigiano and herbs. Then praying. The outcome is a bunch of soggy courgette sticks.
I have put it back in the most forgotten corner of my kitchen. No dinner for you tonight air-fryer.
I am wondering if instead is a hair-frying? 👩🏼‍🦱

It doesn't get the food hot enough fast enough, that's why frying in oil works.

Next time, I'd just use the frying pan :D

Yep. I have never been a big fan of the air-fryer actually but since I got one, I wanted to give it a chance this time with fried courgette sticks mostly for the excellent reviews about this recipe I’ve seen on internet.
Never again!

Unsurprisingly not particularly helpful comments from the anti airfryer brigade!

It’s a bit of learning curve finding out what it does well and what it doesn’t MypinchofItaly but I’m certain someone of your skill level is going to get to grips with it much faster that most!

Appreciate the trust but I don’t trust air-fryer very much.. maybe it’s just a matter of time and patience.. I am stick to my traditional way of cooking, maybe more boring but so far it is the only one that worked 🙂

I mostly use mine for browning potatoes or warming up from frozen something that's already cooked.

I understand that and I gave my airfryer to my sons because my mini oven has an airfryer setting, which I use a surprising amount.
