Its a rather pretty thing. And I think, easier to clean according to reports.
I like mine quite a bit. I use it for pancake and waffle batter, as well as (American) biscuits and scones.

Would it be any good for bread dough? I'd have thought it wouldn't as the bread dough would be too stiff.
Yeah, it does a very good job with stiff doughs.
The only problem I had was that I have a cheap one (gift), and the whisk part wasn’t set very well (or very far into) the handle, so when I was mixing a fairly stiff dough the first time, it popped out.
I “fixed” it with some gorilla glue, and it’s been fine ever since, but should it come out again, I’ll get a better-quality one.

I believe they were designed for bread dough.
But gluten free bread dough really isn't much of a dough, it's more of a very thick batter
