Based on the leaves, my iPhone says it’s a type of radish.

I can’t see the photo very well on my phone, I just went by what the phone picked up from the leaves. The stuff up top does favor a green radish somewhat. Sorry.It looks nothing like a radish! And radishes are roots. All of which you knew.

I didn't know to start with, but worked it out from what I planted last year and a bit of googling.
This harvest was most unexpected and very tasty.

So, these are radish seed pods! Very tasty. Peppery like radishes.
First I thought some beetroot had gone to seed, as I saw a few big red bulbs with lots of white flowers. The flowers were pretty so I left them. Then these pods appeared. I looked up what they were. Yes, I did sow lots of radishes last year.
So, I'm going to leave a few again this year for more seed pods next year.
