My best food memory involves my grandmother. She used to make me hot cakes when I visited her. They were always perfect size. My grandmother has passed on now, but I still think of her when I eat hot cakes. She was such a good woman.

I worked in a hotel for 3 years. They used to do their own cheesecake, it was like heaven oh earth, it was that good. Myself with a few others used to sneak it for out lunch. The chefs used to go mad with us taken the cheesecake but you just can't help it when its that good. I have never come across a cheesecake that has been that good since.

When I was a small child between WWII and the Korean war "vittels" were rather lean. My little boy body did not get enough meat. One night my father and one of my uncles went out gigging frogs and came back with 3 dozen bullfrogs. I remember Dad cleaning them and Mom cooking them, but most of all remember eating them.To this day fried frog legs is at the top of my list.
