What made you smile recently (2025)?

How can bichon frisé look so mean?!
Because some of them are? My FIL used to have a little bichon named Teddy. He was so cute! He would come up and beg for pets, and when I reached my hand down to scratch his neck or head, he would snap and/or bite me (if I didn't pull back fast enough). Twice was enough for me to learn to not pet him when he came up to me. My FIL used to find it quite funny. I did not.

They are. My wife's cousin has got a bunch of them.
One day we were at their flat and "IT" was sniffing around my legs. I stretched down to pet "IT" and it went into a shark frenzy, and bit me.
I grabbed it by the neck, put it on front of my ugly face and said , in a quiet, Liam Neeson voice ,
"If you ever do that again, I will hunt you down, and kill you"
Any time after that, I'd go into the flat and "IT" would run away. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Some dogs do need a telling don't they?!
Like all dogs it's down to the owner.
Unlike a lot of small breed dogs they are not by nature an aggressive breed at all. One of the few breeds of dogs that you can put with children (that are not their own family) and know there won't be any trouble. Though of course a pack of dogs behaviour is a completely different thing.

It's also one of the very few breeds suitable for people with limited mobility too as they tend to exercise themselves, if they have a bit of energy they tend to make up a little game and zip around until they've worn themselves out, so walking them everyday isn't 100% necessary.

Have a read up on their breed traits. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised.

Pippi is predominantly miniature poodle with a touch of pug. Really smart and has a lot of pug noises. Snorts, snuffles, snores, is gassy, and sounds like a pug when she barks.

A true story for a change: we have a couple as our closest neighbors. MrsT frequently walks with the wife, Jan.

About a week ago, they were walking and Jan was fuming - “Would you believe Jack bought five racks of ribs to smoke and forgot about them and left them in his truck for two days?! I’m so mad at him! We’re not made of money!”

Yesterday, Jack texted me to tell me about some beer he’d found that he thought I’d like, and in the midst of that conversation, he mentioned those ribs.

“Yeah man, would you believe I bought five racks of ribs the other day, almost $80, and I was unloading the groceries when Jan came in behind me and shut the truck door. I thought she’d got the ribs out but they stayed in my truck for two days. That’s a lot of money she cost us.”

I had to laugh because each one was blaming the other!
