Yeah there are other parts of Louisiana that are pretty thick too. My dad was born in Many, Louisiana and it's very Cajuncentric as well.

There are lots of coonass' around there too. Some people, those not having grown up there, misdefine that term per some liberal definition and then they're really being insultive and advertising ignorance to the indigenous peoples.

My dad was 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Native American and possibly some French and who knows what else.

My family that live in SE Texas are half Cajun. My mom's younger sister married a Coonass. He was such a great guy and a great cook.
