I couldn't find a new thread to post songs in, so correct me if I'm wrong but I am starting this thread.

I had planned to share this one earlier this week because it touches on the situation in Europe in general, but in the light of the things I am going to have to face myself soon this one fits even better. I love the new style of this band.

I did something at the mall last weekend I hardly ever do - I impulse-bought an article of clothing.

Check out my sweet Ride the Lighting shirt! And it was only $5!

That's an amazing price! I've seen Metallica 3 times. Even in the 80s concert Ts were expensive, I can't imagine what they are currently.

I can…I’m going to see them in April! It’s a 2-night show, with totally different set lists and openers for each night. Can’t wait!

I saw Metallica once before, but it was well over 15 years ago. Always cool to run into another fan!

Love Metallica! :woot:
Thr first time I saw them was in the 80s for the "And Justice For All" tour but I was a fan well before that. James Hetfield had mutton chops...

I’m too young to have seem them in the 80s. I saw them in the late 2000s I think, on the St. Anger tour. My husband and I went to the show together but it was before we were engaged even.

Fun fact: I walked down the aisle to Apocalyptica’s cover of “Nothing Else Matters” when we got married. My mother was horrified that I wanted to walk down the aisle to a Metallica song, we had guests air-guitaring in their seats, but that’s our song and we thought it was perfect!

I took my husband to see them up here in Ohio (I saw them in Pensacola, FL back when I lived on the Gulf of MEXICO (sorry had to emphasize that, LOL) and he was blown away, said that it was an amazing show. I told him it was great but back in the 80s they were 2x as good (back when Jason Newstead was playing bass). Still really great over the years, but part of the 80s appeal was when they all had their long hair spinning in unison as they played and head banged, and somehow didn't miss a lick. That always amazed me!

That's so cool!

I've never had the chance to attend concerts, health has mostly been in the way. And seemingly will be again the coming years.

I like a wide range of music, and that one definitely falls into my type.
I prefer lower pitch voices in general (a kate bush type voice generally makes me almost flinch)

Enya is one of the female singers I do like - such a great voice

I know Enya well, very relaxing music ☺️

Within Temptation has one of the highest pitched singers in the genre ( Sharon den Adel) I prefer Tarja Turunen , the previous singer of the band Nightwish. She's a mezzo soprano. My favorite song of last year is this one:

We watched A Complete Unknown last night, so I’m going to include one of my favorite covers of a Dylan song - this one by The Flying Burrito Brothers - and it’s a rather raw outtake that falls apart at the end, but in a somewhat pleasant way:

While it’s not a perfect voice, I love the fragility of Gram Parsons’ vocals on this…he’s really tapped into his inner Hank Williams.

That’s lovely, all the songs I know about death are rather harrowing (but that’s how I like it).

I’m quite enamored of the horns on this, or at least the horn parts, as maybe that’s a synthesizer, I don’t know, and there’s this little warbling part buried in there that sounds like either a synthesizer or a guitar run through a Leslie speaker that’s just wonderful.
