What music are you listening to? (2025)

I'm just listening to Loreena McKennitt yet again.
Luckily one of my courses has picked music for the subject of their assignment, so I actually have to go to various social media platforms (luckily it's a developers account, not a personal one) and sign up and download data for big data analysis methods... the result is that I'm spending a lot of time of Spotify, Reddit and YouTube listening to her music as I process the data.

I also have to pick another related artist, so Enya (Brennan) it is.

SOAD was absolutely fantastic. It was my first time seeing them, and they absolutely blew me away. I had seats (front row!) but the floor was one of the craziest ones I’ve seen in a while. Crowd surfers starting from the opening act, and at one point I counted at least 7 mosh pits.

I wasn’t super pleased with the venue - it’s a temporary one, but it’s poorly planned out. It took me an hour to get from my seat to the subway after the show ended. There’s a subway stop maybe 10 min walk from the stadium itself, but they funnel the entire crowd (50,000 capacity) to ONE GATE to leave. Then the subway was delayed, and so train service out to the ‘burbs (where I’d parked my car) had ended. I ended up taking an Uber with a couple of random teens that were going my way (they were both super-sweet).

Loved them since the late 70s. My school bus driver had a radio and he had good taste in music. I remember listening to Queen, Eagles, Bad Company, and more on the way to school and home. He smoked cigarettes (on the bus) and had long hair and a beard, wore tie-dye t-shirts...I'm sure he smoked other stuff too when not working.

Saw them in concert in 1982. FANTASTIC show.
