What produce/ingredients did you buy or obtain today (2026)?

More eggs given from the neighborhood barnyard - she said the hens are laying like crazy and she's running out of room in the fridge! Fine by me 😊

I always have eggs at hand. They are one of my favourite foods (and not for breakfast). What are you planning to do with them?

You have some really great egg recipes Morning Glory and several including your curry and salad are on my to do list.

A genoise sponge cake is on the list as I haven't done a cake for a while.

Not today, but, got burdock and konnyaku. Burdock was reduced and wanted to try..quite nice. Konjac is for vegetarian prawns that have disappeared, so manufacturing my own.View attachment 143300View attachment 143301
Update on the prawns: not edible. marinated and boiled = too chewy for me. Tried light batter and shallow fried: that’s the best, but doesn’t take to being re heated. Got a couple in freezer that I don’t hold hope for. Saw a video on Aloha vegan kitchen if anyone wants a go. I hate the YouTube stuff, personally, prefer to read and have explanations etc.

Figured it would be a challenge. All I could ever do with konjac was eat it with a sauce. Extremely filling stuff what with it's mostly fiber.
