What will you be watching on TV tonight (2025)?

Last night we watched a classic neither of us had seen before - The Nightmare Before Christmas. I’m not sure if it was a Halloween movie, or a Christmas movie.

It was still early after we finished that, so we started watching Chad Powers - really hilarious so far.

Just watched my two games of football (my team lost; son's team won) and now I'm waiting for later to watch Masterchef America, where the couples will have to cook in synch with Gordon Ramsay and then plate perfectly.
I can just picture myself doing that; I'd have all the ingredients stacked up to the ceiling....

It’s both! It’s not the best movie, but it’s unique the way it bridges both holidays, so I like it.

We’re watching the first 2025 Hallmark Christmas movie - just released. A European princess tired of her royal duties comes to a Montana ranch to relax anonymously and meets the owners’ studly handsome son, with the improbably studly handsome first name of Huntley - doesn’t that just scream bear wrassler?!?!

Anyway, even money says they fall in love by the end and enjoy a very chaste kiss as the credits roll by. Disney movies are racier than Hallmark movies.

I really don't understand why you watch these Hallmark films. You are such a lovely creative, at times anarchic, sensitive and intelligent soul.

I watched two of these Hallmark things (Christmas themed) one after the other this morning. First time ever. It was an out of body experience. Maybe that's the point...

Makes great mindless hangover-on-the-couch TV. But I used to watch it with my dearly departed elderly aunt because she loved those movies.

They’re like a delightful confection full of empty calories. That’s the best way to describe them.

We’ve seen so many (and there really are only a handful of plots*) that we sit there and say, “Ok, now this is going to happen…and then this…wait for it…he’s going to say…and now she’s going to say…and…kiss (but none of that chewy mouth motion and definitely no tongue, you two better kiss like siblings)!” - and we’re right 99% of the time. That’s half the fun.

*They purposely have just a few distinct plots…it’s what they’ve evolved into. Every year, fans eagerly await this year’s royalty-themed movie…this year’s Ireland-or-Scotland-based movie…this year’s wealthy employer-financially struggling employee movie, this year’s comedy Christmas movie…and they also have whole movie franchises.

I'd need the Grindhouse version... 👍
If I had a billion dollars to throw away, I’d make the filthiest, raunchiest, most explicit Hallmark-style movie possible, just for fun…one so shockingly graphic that Larry Flynt himself would rise from the grave just to tell me, “You’ve gone too far there, boy!” 😈

…but what part would I cast myself in? 🤔

That, in all seriousness, is the nicest, most beautiful thing anyone has ever said about me. Thank you! 😊
