I didn't know enokitake had a season. We can get them all the time here. Don't they grow them like they do all other mushrooms?

Yes they are cultivated. As I said - the wild version is in season.

I was assuming that @morning glory had meant mushrooms rather than specific wild version of enokitake with reference to it being the wild season, but I could be wrong.

I meant the wild version of Enokitaki is in season. Its in season from September to February. It looks nothing at all like the cultivated one in the image, which has the characteristic long thin stems.
