If it's not a skin ailment the colour suggests to me a fruit rather than a vegetable (assuming that it's food).

Looks like an apple or red plum to me.

A plum could be right. I understand some plums have speckled skin like that. Certainly the correct colour.

You wouldn't care to enlarge that a few times would you. My eyesight went to the dogs about 25 years ago. Not even my magnifier is adequate.
