I think that some of you may like to do soup stocks, soups, stews and other things in a stop pot. So my question is how many of you have one! These pots can range anywhere from about 8 quarts up to about 22 to 25 quarts. Probably no one has one that large. But they DO come in handy for those that like to make normal to large amounts of stocks, soups or stews. Mine is 12 quarts, & sometimes I get the urge to make beef stock or chicken stock, or even fish stock!! I don't jmake the pot full, but it's nice to know that you have the desire to do so whenever you choose to do it!!!!

I have two, left over from beer brewing days, but I rarely use them. Cooking for two, I use one of my Dutch ovens for anything I’d cook in a stockpot.

Everyone needs a stock pot. Or three. 😅 Everyone who cooks worth a wotsit, that is. They're stew and soup pots too [edited to add:] and occasional natural dye vats.

OK, biggest pot I got is 150 litres
Yep, from lodge days.
Obviously not much in use these days
But I got 100 as well and 30 and smaller.
None of them dedicated stock pots

Have quite a few stockpots/stewpots - biggest 80+ q/L family ones mainly for big social event cooking, but for everyday use mainly around 8 - 20 q/L or so, prob about 6 or 8 or so various sizes. Stews and soups are made a lot so used all the time.

We have several, from 8-quarts up to a 24-quart seafood/lobster pot, with a couple going back to before we got married 30+ years ago. We're semi-empty nesters with my youngest coming home from college on the weekends, so for day to day cooking, we often don't need anything huge, but then I also like to make big batches of soups and stews to pressure can or freeze, which is where the bigger ones are needed. We also have frequent large get togethers and parties with friends and family, including lobster boils, so the bigger ones are often needed there, as well. I also use the mid- to large-sized ones regularly to make stock that I freeze to keep on hand. Some stocks on the basement freezer door alone include beef, chicken, turkey, and seafood.
