Nice article. However I really can't help but feel very very very snobbish doing most of that. Just not my style at all.
I pour it into the glass, let it sit for a while and then drink it. If it tastes good it's a good wine, if it doesn't then it's not a good wine. I really don't care about how it's colour looks when you observe it against a light.
