Wine with meat dishes

Do you buy wine to drink with your meat dishes? I have watched a lot of cooking shows and they suggest a certain bottle of wine for each type of meat. What's your favourite wine for dinner?

It really depends where I am and what I'm eating... and with who. If I'm alone at home it's rare for me to drink wine with dinner, though it does happen.

I don't have any real favourites for the moment, I'm just starting out. I usually buy a bottle of red at random and note down the name if I like it a lot.

I only buy wine to drink with meat dishes, when these dishes are part of a traditional dinners and special occasions and my favorite are Cabernet Sauvignon.

Sometimes I may buy wine to celebrate that I'm grilling a very special steak cut, but other than this, I usually keep wine aside for regular dinners.
