I'm really not certain where to put this. In theory I guess it ought to go into meat but given I found these in the wood shed whilst chopping wood and have no plans whatsoever to eat them, I'll just go for the "from the garden" forum instead. I found 6 in total, but I suspect that there are more in that log and many more logs have piles of saw dust a centimeter or more wide and high on them.... many many more....

Yes, they are true witchetty grubs growing in a wattle (though long since dead).
Scale, well without gloves on, my 4 fingers are 7cm or almost 3 inches wide!
