Finished another pair of socks. I always have a vanilla pair of socks on the go, for when I can't concentrate on the big project, or as right now, for when it's drying whilst being blocked.

How much would the yarn for something like that cost?
The yarn is Rowan felted Tweed. It's cost varies depending on where you purchase it , but it isn't one of the cheaper yarns. However i have tried this pattern with 2 other yarns and it just didn't work. I was gifted 67 balls of Rowan Felted Tweed last time I visited my mother in the UK. She informed me that she was no longer knitting with anything except a DK/8ply yarn or thicker. Technically it's DK weight so I didn't quite understand her logic :banghead: but I'm the ivy one of my siblings who knits and she knows that.

There are 6 colours in that vest, and the pattern says 16 balls of various colours are needed for that size. I know I didn't need anywhere as many as it stated. It's weighs the same as 7 balls of yarn, though obviously some are part balls which I can and will use at a later date. Similarly one is the colours used in this garment was left over from a previous Fairisle knit.

This was it with cheaper yarn.

One good thing about Rowan felted Tweed is that the colours work so well together.

These are other non-sock related fairisle garnets I've made previously.

I often wear the green vest and am doing so know. That won 2nd place at state level in the knitting competition last year (CWA). I also wear the wrist warmers quite a bit.

The cardigan was a much harder knit.

That cardigan is amazing. How long would that take? Would you work on that solely until it's done, or take breaks and work on smaller items?

The cardigan was done in under 3 months. I'm only work on 1 large garment at a time but typically have a pair of socks on the go at the same time, for when I need something portable or simpler.

The green vest took 3 weeks but I wasn't at university then. The blue one took 3 months but there have been at least 3 weeks where I didn't knit due to study commitments. So in reality it took 2 months and about 12 to decide on the pattern and the wool!

It’s all lovely, but that cardigan is something else again. Simply stunning. What beautiful work!

I took over some bits & bobs from my collection of home décor to jazz up my Mother's apartment.

I found this banner at Dollar Tree, along with the plastic Flamingo and greenery in the pot he's in ... didn't notice the first A in aloha was missing until Mom asked me, "what happened?"
🤷‍♀️
We're saying that that first little flower is really an A ...
Looks cute in any case

Her dining table, again, stuff from Dollar Tree

Mostly every apartment on Mom's floor does something with their front entire.
Mom did nothing until I came along

This I made for our house and upcycled it to Mom's place.

DH said as we were driving off, "Did you see the biggest smile on your Mom's face that I'd ever seen before? She was just tickled with what you did to her apartment."
