You’ve got to have the set, because they’re all matched - the wine from day 1 matches up with the cheese from day 1 and the chocolate from day 1.

We’re going to be lost, eating our chocolate and cheese for one day with sarsaparilla and another day with flaming rum punch. It’s a mess now.

Oh, that is what I was kind of thinking it was. That's really cool, they pair it for you. I didn't know that kind of thing even existed, but I don't drink alcohol; I just cook with it. I have heard that some wines pair very well with certain cheeses, though. If I were going to try wines and cheeses, that sounds like it would be perfect for an idiot like me. I would probably end up drinking pop or garden hose water.

One of the latest whims of our glorious soviet socialist republic is to declare the Xmas season at the start of October - in order to take people's minds off the economic realities.
It doesn't work!

Since they're of German origin, I'd go with Schwarzbier or Dunkel. Maybe some Gewurtztraminer with the cheese? Just make sure it's not a Busch light...

I have my fingers crossed for tonight. I may opt to drive up to the top of our hill and see if i can see any again. We've had notice of a severe magnetic storm and the moon doesn't rise until well after 2am at the moment, so we stand a good chance.

I went out and saw them. I have yet to process the pictures, though, but these were from my phone.

We get a different style of Aurora here. Not so much the wavy pattern,s unfortunately. I will also try again tonight, if the weather and solar conditions permit. And we go away tomorrow for a friend's memorial in the Blue Mountains, so if it extends on into the weekend, we may get another chance, but the weather is due to be stormy by then, so it may not happen.

This was the very first photo taken.

Unfortuantly due south of us is Canberra so we do get some light pollution from that, but the aurora is clearly there.

I have never seen the Northern lights. Spectacular. Need to put that on my list of things to do!
