Yesterday, we watched a BBC documentary about the history of corporal punishment in Britain. It was a rather disturbing programme, but it was impossible not to laugh when the credits came up. One of the consultants in the making of the programme was a gentleman called Professor Gary Slapper.

Sometimes, nominative determinism is too good for real life.

I think that would have to be my fourth, possibly fifth Martini - I can't get my head around the blue cheese at all. However, I am sufficiently intrigued (read "stupid") to try anything once, so maybe one day. Thank you for the inspiration
